I Am Making No More Promises

I always have good intentions to write more in my blog and then utterly fail at doing that, so I am not going to say that I will be posting more. It will just be a pleasant surprise whenever I post! Haha.

It has been almost a year, and some things have happened in that time. I quit grad school last year and kind of wondered (not physically) for the rest of the year, not knowing what I was going to do and burdened with a bunch of debt. At the beginning of this year, I was inspired and decided to make a career of my art. I have been building up my skill and style the past 6 months and have a few pieces planned out. I want to have a website up and running by the end of the summer, and I will hopefully be able to sell stuff. Ideally, I would like to do ink portraits because they are my favorite. If you don't already follow my art Instagram you can find it @ramortensen_art. If you would like any artwork made by yours truly comment below, and we can chat.

I am also moving this summer. Not far, just down the road really. I will still be with my parents, but Kira and Jeff are moving to Virginia, so we don't need the house anymore. I might post pictures once we are all moved in to the new place. I am excited to move into a new place (we will have a pool, what. what.), but I am also not looking forward to all the packing and cleaning. Mostly, not looking forward to the cleaning. I want to say it's the worst, but I know it really isn't. It is not the best though. Haha.

Those two things are the biggest news I have. I am still working at Bohem (check us out at bohem.co). Super exciting stuff happening there, as always. Shipping, emails, inventory on occasion. Haha. I do really like working there actually. It's very chill, which is my ideal job when I am not working for myself.

In other less life changing news, I saw and loved Avengers: Infinity War. Oh my gosh, so good. Team-ups everywhere! Which was the point, by the way. It will not be like emotionally earth shattering or anything, because it's only half way through the story and getting emotionally deep with 50+ characters in a 2 and a half hour movie is actually impossible. But a Thor, Rocket, and Groot team-up is the best thing ever. Haha. Rabbit. Haha. Also, Doctor Strange in this movie was amazing. And Tom Holland as Spider-Man was fantastic as always. I could have done with a little more Cap and literally ANY Hawkeye. So mad Hawkeye wasn't in this movie. It was the only truly dark spot in the film.

Well, I wrote that a year ago.

I have since seen Avengers: Endgame which was more amazing because it has Hawkeye and doesn't end with the bad guy winning. I would go into more detail, but I am to lazy for that. Haha.

I also started a new job (still working at Bohem though) as a nanny for an adorable baby named Miles. He's actually my sister's brother-in-law's baby which is how I got the job. He is almost none months and a pretty chill baby.

We are moving to a new apartment this coming week. I am not as packed as I wanted to be, but I'm in a much better place than the last time I moved.

I got a new computer today. Just a cheap little chromebook, but it is not as slow as molasses like my old one. Eventually I will get a nicer one, but this works for me now. Hopefully, that means I will blog more, but I reiterate the title of this post: I am making no more promises.

Also, just as a warning, my next post when it happens will most likely be able the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon (spoilers: it's amazing and I love it).

DDoG: new computers.
